1 Overview

2 What We Actually Host

Understanding our platform's role is essential before filing a DMCA notice. ytunlock acts exclusively as a redirect layer:

• We do not store files. No videos, images, documents, software, or media are uploaded to our servers by users.
• We store URLs only. Creators provide a destination URL (hosted on a third-party service like Google Drive, Dropbox, YouTube, etc.). We store only that link.
• We control access. The smart link page we display is ours. The destination content is hosted externally.

3 How to File a Takedown Notice

To submit a valid DMCA takedown request, your notice must be in writing and include all of the following elements under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

• Your full legal name and physical or electronic signature.
• Identification of the copyrighted work(s) you claim has been infringed.
• The exact ytunlock URL(s) where the allegedly infringing content is linked (e.g. https://ytunlock.com/unlock/yourlink).
• Your contact information: email address, phone number, and mailing address.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement made under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.

How to Send Your Notice

4 Our Response to DMCA Notices

Upon receipt of a valid and complete DMCA notice, we will promptly take the following steps:

1. Disable access to or remove the smart link pointing to the allegedly infringing destination URL.
2. Notify the registered creator who created the link that it has been removed due to a DMCA claim.
3. Provide the creator with a redacted copy of the DMCA notice so they understand the basis of removal.

5 Counter-Notification

If you are a ytunlock creator and believe your link was removed in error — due to misidentification or because you hold the legal right to distribute the material — you may file a counter-notification.

Required Elements for a Counter-Notice

Your counter-notification must be in writing and contain all of the following:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the smart link that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification.
4. Your full name, address, phone number, and email address.
5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court in your area (or where ytunlock may be found if outside the US), and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant.

6 Repeat Infringer Policy

ytunlock enforces a strict three-strikes policy against repeat infringers.

• A creator who receives three valid, sustained DMCA complaints will have their account permanently terminated.
• We reserve the right to terminate accounts immediately — regardless of strike count — for severe, wilful, or egregious copyright infringement.
• Terminated accounts forfeit any unpaid earnings balances in accordance with our Terms of Service.

7 Creator Responsibility

Every creator on ytunlock is solely responsible for the destination content they lock behind their smart links. By creating a link, you confirm that:

• You own the content, or you have explicit authorisation from the copyright holder to distribute it.
• The destination URL does not point to pirated software, cracked games, stolen films, or any other unlicensed copyrighted material.
• You have reviewed and comply with all applicable copyright laws in your jurisdiction.
• You understand that ytunlock will remove your links and may terminate your account if valid DMCA complaints are received.

8 Safe Harbor & Liability

Safe Harbor Status

ytunlock.com qualifies for DMCA safe harbor protection under 17 U.S.C. § 512(d) as an information location tool. We act as a routing and access-control layer — we do not host, upload, select, or curate the destination content that creators link to. We have no actual knowledge of infringing content until properly notified.

No Liability for Removal

ytunlock will not be liable to any creator for the removal or disabling of any link in response to a DMCA notice. We reserve the right to remove any link alleged to be infringing without prior notice, at our sole discretion, and without liability to the creator who published the link.
